I've had a Smartech TB1 for a while now, never really liked it because of the dry diffs and weak housings, it was almost like driving a front wheel drive rc, the front would unload way to easy. So I dragged it out from the back room the other day and stripped it down to nothing and started from scratch.
First thing I did was install a Nutech silicone filled diff and CNC diff housing then moved on to the center diff, didn't do anything but stuff it full of old rags jambed in real tight, locked it up good LOL. Left the front stock Smartech for now, I might change it out later if I have problems with it (probably will). Figure I have the driveline sorted for now, rear diff and locked center should do it. I moved on to the engine, put my Oneill's ported 30.5 with the Jetpro MT pipe in, along with the Nutech 3 shoe alloy clutch.
I removed the silencer from the pipe to gain that bit extra (sounds sweet).
I still have to cut and spin the stinger straight down but couldn't resist taking it for a quick run to see how it went. The clutch works awsome, kinda guessed at the setting and got lucky, I did drill a hole in the bell for ajustment but it's fine for now, time will tell if it wears. All I have to say is this combo works real well, just flippin screams :omg: I thinks I'll be puttin a 30.5 in me MT when the stock 26 gives up...not that it needs it! :yahoo:

nice looking smutech:D I likey
you've turned a POS into a decent rig with only a few goodies, like the centre diff locking method...getting these to launch good and not send most of the power to the front you need a locked diff IMO...mine will be locked for our next meet...i can't wait to see how far i leave this one behind in my dust LOL
