I just got my TBII and it came with the 2.4ghz radio with EPA adjustments (not LCD).

I've read a little on the forums about a kill switch (killer bee) but their website is quite a mess to figure which version I should get to fit the RTR radio.

Also, is it a really necessary item?

Short answer, YES.

I will not run any of my cars without a kill switch, for the sake of the car and the people around it.
Could you imagine your car hitting a little kid at full throttle, wouldn't be nice, or ending up under a truck.
You need a 3 channel radio and put the kill switch on the 3rd channel.

killswitch is a must as andyw stated...for 40 bucks it's cheap insurance...you can also get 2 ch switches now from killerrc (used to be PB killswitches) that work when you turn off the 2ch tx

Definitely get a killer bee Kill Switch to go with a 3 ch radio....
I used to run Nitro and those kill switches would just apple the brakes and turn the wheels. If the Servo siezed you would still be screwed. It only helped against loss of signal

now that I have a KB KS on my nutech... I don't feel worried anymore.
I lose signal, battery low, or press my 3rd CH button on my remote and my engine shuts off nice and easy :)
Throttle servo seized up on WoT? No problem! Just press the 3rd CH button.

I am running a 2ch killer b in my nutech gt5r and it's plugged into ch 3... you just turn the radio off to kill the motor. so either the 2 ch or 3 ch version works with the nutech radios

thanks for feedback.

I've got a killerbee for 3ch radio. Going to change the stock radio for my Airtronics FM.

the stock radio is actually quite good. I've had the analog one with the dials and digital one as well. I gave the analog one to my bud that only had a couple am radios when he got a vw fg ... fg came with a v2
