Is the correct shaft the one in the pic? could you have mistakenly swapped it with one from the a arms?

center dogbones and axle dogbones are so different in length there is no way to confuse them, my advise is grab the f*%king thing by the front and rear, put it over your knee and pull.....:boxing: you've most likely bent the chassis a tad
Have faith, my Nutech is my favorite rc....and believe me I have them all.LOL

the center to front dog boan is a little short from factory they have orings in the cups to keep it central or you can use those small spring things in there ....

my sandstorm is the same with no orings in the cups

another thing you can use in is those foam ear plugs cut to fit

Bently, you have to admit thats pretty extream what is shown in his picture, I've not come accross that issue at all yet ,:)I've read a few complaints about them being short though, mine does not have any orings at all and it floats back and forth about a 1/4 in with nothing to worry about. That's why I suggested his chassis may be bent.

my truck was one of the first test cars tb2 pro chassis with ss body so i duno maybe they have made the shafts longer now i dont know ..

i think fatyajs was one of the early ones as well

i dont think the chassis will be bent hes never run it ....

it's been forever since I touched my tb2. I think I did the ear plug thing for mine. I run my on roads so much more the tb2 gets a bit neglected

this is the main front to center shaft there is no spring loading on the center diff so no point in checking that

all it needs is a ear plug put it each cup to hold it in the center of each cup

Kind of frustrating though that I would need ear plugs to fix this item....first the a arms were to short and now the drive line....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

did anyone do an over all inspection of this product before it was sent to production?????

with any new rc there are going to be little things like this that need to be fixed and it soulds like this has been fixed now as scott hasnt had any problems with any of his cars hes sold

ive never had a problem with mine i just put orings in there (mine came with orings in it from the factory)

My TB2 Pro came from the factory with 2 o-rings in each cup for that centre dogbone, mine is a recent build, and would look like the OP's without the o-rings in there.
So they haven't fixed the issue by making the correct length dogbone, they have just used a work around.

I got a bit of ear plug in one end and a conical spring in the other in the front centre shaft but it's not quite as bad as the one in the pic

Might be worth checking if the front strut brace is tightened up, from both the front diff/steering plate and the chasis side..

Small amount of flex in this part of the chasis may mean mm's somewhere else..i.e. front centre dog bone.

My front dogbone does look like that as well, but couple bits of old foam inserts..sorted!!

so i bought some srpings from my local hardware shop cut them to fit and that did the trick...drive line is in place and held tight...

easy fix, just wish i didnt have to..

Thanks for all the input

Mine seems far too short as well (brand new, never been ran, chassis not bent).

This really is unacceptable.

I'll fix it - but I shouldn't have to on a vehicle of this caliber.

1/2 an earplug in both cups cures it....mine are the same....I've no idea why this has not been addressed by the factory as they were made aware of it..however it's a 10cent fix that works 100%....and make sure you do those rear dogbones too and crank in the neg camber or you'll lose a bone before the first tank is done.
Like all rc's including the 5b/t, mcd, redcat, fg, the nutech isn't problem free but the problems are few and there's a 100% cure for all of them that don't cost a fortune.
I do agree however that these simple issues should be sorted by now...nutech did change many things when we were testing these and then seemed to stop after the major problems had been addressed.

I agree, you shouldn't have to do this either.

Maybe each car could come with free ear plugs.
