Hey Guys-
After a "run-away" a few weeks back I'm just getting my SS back up and running, so I decided to upgrade some parts since I had it torn down. I just dropped in a new CNC rear diff housing and I cant get it to seal up and have the diff move freely at the same time. Everytime I try and screw it down it prevents the diff from moving freely. I just got this housing like 3 days ago- is anyone else having fitting issues with this housing??
Thanks-

did you possibly bend the chassis when you had the runaway?

Hey Pipeous-
Nope, The issue it's having is when I try to s screw both halves of the diff shell together the diff wont move freely inside, if I put it back in the plastic diff it works just fine.

The housings come with 2 shims for the pinion, I found with mine I didn't need to install them, and also found they didn't spin free and smooth. I went ahead and ran them anyway, I haven't had a problem. I've since stripped it down for maintenance and they both are in perfect condition and spin freely now. I'd say go ahead and run it then check it after a tank, bet they will be fine.

Hey Scott-
I'll give that I try, I only put on one shim (I'll go ahead and remove it)- as I said it turns but it's just realy tight. I cant seem any signs of wear though.
Thanks,
