hi i am new on here
i have a tb2 and it seems to under steer a lot just wondering what sort of set up should be running to stop under steer so much. i have been racing 1/5 hpi baja for awhile but the tb2 is the first 4wd i have had.

Hi, glad to have you with us.
I would guess that either the center diff/and or the front diff are unloading under power. The could cause you to under-steer. Have you checked the grease or oil in your diffs?

I can't say for sure, but maybe try to stiffen it up with some really thick grease or putty to see if it helps.

This helps alot,
Front diff oil change from stock to 30000
Rear diff oil change from stock to 10000
Center diff oil change from stock to 100000
hope this helps

Coming from 2wd, I'm guessing 4wd will feel quite understeer-y.
Another quick fix would be to put more brake bias towards the rear.
But the diff oil setting is a much better way to go =)

Yes, coming from two wheel drive to four wheel drive IS different!! I will have a lay around with the oils to see how I go. I am planning on racing this car, I currently trace my two wheel driver (Baja), is there anything else that I should look at changing / strengthening on my TB2. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help so far!!!

I would suggest for racing to keep it as light as you can, but somethings you might want in aluminum.
Diff carriers. (front and rear)
Center diff mounts
Engine mounts.
There is also a set of adjustable shock bodies you can get that are threaded to adjust spring tension.
This way I think all of the important items of the buggy will be more solid and responsive for racing. imo.

Good list Mike,
Great advice.
The car don't really need too much doing to it. The only thing I'd add as a kinda must have would be an alloy clutch bell carrier ;)
