This is worthy of a thread on its own, check THIS out! That looks like independent EPA! 2.4Ghz, AND EPA?? Wow, just wow. It looks really cool too, for an OEM...

Forum Users please note, while the US versions will have these radios, there is no guarantee that models in other regions will, it is down to the distributors to select whichever radio they want.

Looks like a great Radio. Will they be an option for all Nutech Models?

I assume so, at least for the gassers. May not be worth the extra cost for the smaller scale cars.

I am sure if they are better than most RTR AM/FM radios they will be well received!

I have no doubt (going out on a bit of a limb here) that they will not only be better than the standard crop of RTR radios, but will negate the need to consider ever replacing it with a 'better' system. I can't see any reason to spend $120 on a Futaba FASST receiver when you already have an OEM 2.4Ghz unit with the critical adjustments (EPA and D/R).

As I have had a few different 2.4G radio's from Chinese companies I will reserve comment until I have fully tested these units, but I am sure Nutech have done their own in-house testing on these units!

I'm expecting a sample soon myself, I'll post my thoughts.

From what I understand the radios have been a year in development

I thought are these radios 2 or 3 channel??? as 3 channel would be awesome for fitting Pico engine cutout switches!

Oh and how about placing this in the Electronics's section!

Your wish is my command! Moved from Thunderbolt 2 forum.

It'd be great if they are, but I doubt it. Chris?

I have tried out these radios today as a static test and over 100m still working fine:yahoo: I have been given permission from one of my customers to run the car in and try it out before he pick's up this Saturday:D:D so I will report tomorrow after I have tried it out in the field!

Sorry yes forgot to post about these! They work very well but found at distance of over 40m+ they were very slow on response times, especially throttle servo so changed the system out for a Spektrum unit.

Slow as in milliseconds? That maybe a faster servo would fix? Or did you try a Speky receiver with the radio?

No it was response time from transmitter to receiver, like you would say give full throttle and seemed like at least 1 second delay before throttle servo would respond. Once fitted full spektrum system was fine! So servos were good.

A LCD screen would have been nicer instead of all those buttons.

i have two of these radios i got both from nutech and all i can say is they match my futaba and speky........

i have them tested them intensivly and they are perfect, not a glitch.

i have one in my GT5-R AND one in MY C5 SOLO.... :D

may be lacking in futaba settings and speed but as they mentioned here allready a lot better than the lower end rtr crap......

i love them anyway...

I just found out the other day that the upgrade for the tenth scale cars radio is VERY Reasonable. If I would of known when I ordered them that I could of upgraded these vehicles to 2.4gHz I would of done it :) . The next batch I am sure I will be getting the 2.4gHz radios .

Not sure what your crowd is: Newbies or not? If not than most already have the PRO transmitters and just change the receivers. Maybe change to digital servos later.

But hitting the mass market than certainly I would suggest the Ghz versions as its bullet proof.

Do you need failsafe with those 2.4Ghz or already build in de receiver?

Just asking as mine came without that.

Willy099

The fail safe is built into the receiver the directions even tell you not to install a fail safe with the receiver
