Here is the guys from the last race I attended. For years there has not been any large scale tracks in Georgia and now there is only one. Hope it keeps growing. Been racing 1/8 for about 4 years before I started in to large scale.

Nice machines! I'm curious about the CDI pipe also, please let me know how you like it. :D

These are just my racers I have about 25 others. I emailed CPI and they are coming out with a new pipe shortly. From what they told me the pipe I have works best with stock engines which right now the engine in my 5B SS is stock. This is the reply to the email I sent them asking about the pipe I have.

[We did all of our research on stock engines, and only recently installed one
on a 28.5cc engine and have modified the pipe for that engine and gained .5
hp and 800 more rpm at the peak. We will introduce that pipe next week. But
if you need one, order the big bore pipe. It will be better.]

CPI has been making performance parts and doing performance work on ATV and snowmobiles as well as making exhausts for quite a few years. From what I can see mostly 2 cycles. They just got in to making exhuast for the HPI Baja but do there testing on dynos as well as real time. The pipe is really well made. Only problem I have is it is heavy do to being made of steel. But steel is not only good for durability but all so best materiel for performance. All so instead of having those leaking couplings it has a o-ring seal.

NO I am not a representative of CPI or affiliated with them. Just think if this pipe performces as well as it looks it will be a great pipe. I am in the process of building a 28.5 CC 36mm bore with 28mm stroke and if this pipe does well I will be getting there big bore pipe as well.

I have run my CPI pipe now and LOVE it. I am running a stock 26 engine at the moment and I can get the front wheels off the ground just a little and I think if I where to set my Lauterbacher Adjustable 4-Shoe clutch to a higher RPM I could get it to stand up. Being I race I am not looking for wheelies but this shows the low end torque of this pipe I am building 3 engines myself and hope to get there big bore pipe shortly.

I might be racing a Thunderbolt II more to come on that if things work out and I talked to Mike at CPI the other day. I was telling him that biggest draw back on the Thunderbolt II was the exhaust. He said he might be interested in making a pipe for the Thunderbolt II. I gave him Willy Compton (Nutech US distributor) contact information.

OK I have two races coming up. One at the track in Brooks Georgia on the 26th and then next month in North Carolina at Diggers Dungeon which will be a 3 day event. Have plenty of work to do as I have 3 engines I am building and need to get at least one done. I will be doing much of the work and porting myself.
