I finally got my hands on my TB2. All I can say is 'FANTASTIC":excited:
I bought my TB2 way back in November last year, but I couldn't get to it before this week. I have had to watch video of everyone else driving their cars, and read the forums on what's hot and what's not.
Anyway I finally got it going today and I am stoked with how well it went. I used to race 1/10 on road and I thought that was fun. That was nothing compared to 1/5 scale. I can't wait to get to some racing.
Thanks to Bryan at RC Innovations for his service, help and advice. Thanks to Nutech for a quality piece of equipment.
Now I just have to save up for some hop-ups without the wife finding out.LOL Where to start?
Cheers.

Thanks guys,
Video, Hmmmmmmm, I would love to say that I'm able to post pics and videos etc, but that is a little beyond me at the moment. Getting me to post video is like flogging a dead horse :beat dead horse:
BTW our old video camera isn't digital. It is an old camera that still takes tapes. It is OLD.
Still I'll try a few pictures at some point.
Happy drivin' :yahoo:

Will see you at the track. It will be great to see a few 5th scale cars getting around
I'm a bit bummed about warping my (car) body. The rubber piece fell off the end of my can muffler and the exhaust was hitting directly onto the body. I didn't realise until I had done a few laps.

Any suggestions for remoulding. LOL

Good to see you up dating everyone here Browny:dance:
I think you did a few more than a couple of laps on the body! Never seen one that bad! Maybe hair dryer to heat it up and form it back into place with a screwdriver handle

A hairdryer or maybe a heat gun?

Try posting some picks of the car with the pipe and car with the body so we can get a better idea

Thanks guys, I'll get the hairdryer out today. Well..... I'll borrow one as I'm as I'm bald as a new born, and I don't even have a comb. LOL.
Sickboy, it was the standard can pipe but the rubber end fell off.509 510
The body isn't too bad. It still fits alright. The wife says it just looks like I crashed.LOL

Browny, you want to be careful with all that dry grass I have seen a engine catch fire because of it:no:
Try a mod like this to keep unwanted grass and stones out of the flywheel area!

well at least you can still use the body but looking at the stock can it looks to me the pipe is just a touch short how long is it im thinking the he pipe it self is to short hence the rubber tubing coming of or you did not have tight enough mmm well i hope you get it sorted out let us know wat you did and the end result if you would
and i to would recommend the mod from Bryan its a must or you could get your self a outerwear's cover like this one http://www.outerwearsracing.com/proddetail.asp?prod=20-2553
the only thing is im not to sure it will work with the nutech with drive shaft going under the engine

Yes it works...I have one on mine. ;)

Yes the Outerwears engine cover should work ok on Nutechs as there is good clearance between motor and rear center drive shaft, I don't think they would be any good on MCD cars tho!

Thanks guys. I clean the grass off after every run :good idea: . I took the photo just before a clean. The track is getting better and the grass build up is becoming a less of a problem.
I'm saving up for a few hop-ups and a new pipe is in the top three. A transmitter and a airfilter are probably higher on the list. we'll see.
Drive well

Can anyone let me know if the chassis is supposed to be bent up at the front? I only noticed today that mine is slightly kinked up where the front diff is. It is only slight, but it is noticeable. Should it be flat?

looking sweet browny...
its sure is always sweet to get a brand new r/c
well wear with it.
The rubber exhaust pipe dropping off is a problem I had with mine.
There is no flange on the exhaust can to stop it coming off. I gave up on it and made my own pipe for the time being until they make a good UK (Track Legal) exhaust.
As mentioned, a hair dryer or a low setting heat gun and a round flat object like a rolling pin or copper tube should roll out that warping.
After the rubber fell off I decided that to avoid that in the future I'd heat line the inside of my shell. I got some Adhesive backed Foil tape (Plumbers / Gas Fitters use it in Boilers)
It made a great heat shield. I did the whole rear of the shell and even though the pipe dropped off, it didn't warp the shell at all.

:good idea: Dang, wish I had known about that earlier. I'll keep it in mind for the mext body. I like the look of the Beetle body that is coming out.

to flange the end, just stick a wratchet handle in the pipe hole and roll it around. the pipe will flange.
