yes a side pipe was being done as well. I was supposed to call today but figured I'd give him the extra day to get it together (that and I was woken up with bloody furnace and water heater inspectins, just got woken up to buy a mamba max now too lol) . chrome or not it looks very protected. it's just down in Spokane, so really close

My problem with borders is, I was arrested of a most heinous crime over 15 yrs ago and got a $25 fine... I can't cross the border LOL. Why I do the Canadian races in BC and Alberta. It's rather funny. I have been security at an International Port, worked security for Politcal Campaigns, had my clearance card for VANOC, been in bank vaults, Diamond Merchants, hell I even patrolled Naslund's house and have run an alarm at Pat Quinn's old place. I paint homes for battered women and it's all hush, but because I got caught rolling a dube outside of a hockey arena on a Friday night (I was a goalie and it was my 4th game that day, just came from a game in UBC and old body armor sucked... the guys were freaked saying my body was green lol... bruises). I played for many teams back then... and it's still about $1000 to get a pardon... that buys me a new rc ;) .. I got the minimum fine and the judge was annoyed it even came to court it was so minor and put a blemish on my record. I actually lost my security license (not just guard work I have a few levels doing alarm installation and monitoring, investigations, patrol and alarm response).. I had to write the attorney general. I was a volunteer member of the parks board, president of the rc club, do volunteer work for the handicapped blah blah... and got it back a couple months after the red tape was gone... only people that have a problem are the borders, go figure. I was even approached by a rep about becoming a prison guard. they came to me while supervisor of a large mobile fleet and brought me an application haha. In Canada I am an ok dude I guess
mooman007uk
01-13-2010, 03:52 PM
I'm not allowed in either...oh boo hoo...actually i think about 30% canadians are barred, most for the pettiest of misdemeanors from their youth.
Last time i went to cross had an interview, apparently I'm now considered rehabilitated :surprise: just need to get a visa and pay $585 for my waiver, already recommened on my file for re entry just got to stump up the cash and the desire to go back to the land of the.. er.. freeLOL
didn't realise Dino was so close, he could throw us pipes across zero avenue

ok just got off the phone. I'll have a bunch more pics by the weekend.. above is just the prototype and not completely welded up. it will be getting chromed and he's making about 20 or 30 to start of each type for us by the weekend... there will also be the option of a silencer... he has a really cool idea for a plate that goes under the wing to strengthen that and can mount the silencer add on to it. keeps heat away and adds strength
another cool thing is the hpi drag pipe will fit with a couple mods. that is one big insane beast, so that will be an option for buggy and trucks... and then a single side pipe...
I sent Chris a PM with Dino's contact info. he really wants to work with us and produce a wide variety of pipes. He was truly impressed with the designand layout, even to say the tires and wheels included are the nicest of any rc he has had in his shop, and that says a lot. very beefy
oh and I got a blue body LOL.

Well Dino is even interested in working something with Nutech on a mass production deal. He had some cool ideas. he is making a double flange on the header so it won't have to be removed from the engine for working on the buggy. there will be a break point a few inches away
he really likes chroming the pipes for strength and finish, though he will look at some ideas for making a black pipe... said most guys wanting a black pipe just want something cheaper ;)
The more I talk to him, the more I am liking the guy. Down to earth, mind is always going and thinking of ideas. He tossed a lot of ideas at me and I can't honestly remember everything he said... I was trying to look at the pipes on onb as he mentioned how they could adapt..
and the main concern of pipe 1 was to be protected and not melt anything. the side pipe we figured going down the gear side would be best and the gas cap will be accessible. the drag pipe can be blocked off at the header end to have a single output left or right depending on track, or leave it for what a couple guys I know own them say is the craziest power pipe for a baja made... my bud Gord has 5 different pipes for his baja so lots of comparison. he runs dually wheels on back so wanted more poop and he can dig trenches with duals on back... I hope I get one of those to test hehe... should fit the mt nicely, when I can afford one :D
we sent each other emails so good to go. I'll have a buttload of pics to post by the weekend

I almost bought the rampage pipe like that for my rally car. the add on silencer can be pointed down to for those that needed it.
I can see the body needing a bit of cutting to fit this pipe. I'll test both out and see what I like before I hack the body up. and you know Dino isn't finished yet ;)

where the joint it or is it a one peace pipe,
If not then it would be a good idea to do it that way then we could mount it where we prefer

a jet pro won't dent like that. it's not cheap aluminum for one. I had the v2 mt pipe on my fg. I flipped it bad enough to shatter my body and not a mark. that pipe sits high. I kept driving without a body and smacked it many times to the point of breaking my front mount. that's why jet pro has one of the best warranties in the business (and the chroming helps with making them tougher)

I just talked to Dino, via email, and showed him Clubin's pic. He has an FG Hummer body. Is that the same width as the Nutech MT? It's tough figuring something to fit without all the info. If the bodies are the same size basically, then he can make new mounts for his 5T pipe to fit and use that to work with
For the UK guys, it's hard to come up with anything that is hidden until there is a new body available. We really need to get some product into Dino's hands so he has more to work with than just the buggy as it sits. He is guessing right now at some of it

Ya I pm'd Chris, he said to me the show was keeping him busy. I don't want to keep bugging him, I understand...
so can anyone confirm an fg hummer body is the same width as the nutech? it will help with fitting the 5t pipe in. I gather info try to shorten it, and then email dino. saves him time reading the forums
even if we could get a fuego and mt body in his hands he would see what he has to work with for room. and of course a wider buggy body when available. Could someone that distributes even toss him a body or 2? I am sure Chris and Ethan will take care of you guys later anyway. I can leave my buggy there for another week if need be
I check all the threads of what you guys have allready done and tried. I try to pass that along too.
Time isn't the issue. Ya I want the buggy here, but I have other toys to play with... and I am doing electric indoor racing... traded a detail for another rc today so I have 3 classes to play this weekend :D (it's a big badass dodge 4x4 dually and black... regular customer and a 10 hr job).

I've been working and racing all weekend so haven't called Dino in a few days. The buggy pipes are ready for sale. The MT pipe I am going to assume is ready by now at the rate Dino works. And I think it looks to sit fairly high. by the pic it exits around the bottom of the pull start area which is above the chassis bottom. I'll ask for a side pic so we can see better. sometimes the angle of a pic can be decieving.
woohoo I haven't raced for a couple years (2 weeks ago won't count because I thermalled after 3 laps each time). I TQ'd and won one class and got I believe 3rd in the a main in the other. I only had a mamba 6900 to run and my truck was too fast!! Only able to use 1/4 throttle most of the race. one qualifier I went from 4th to 2nd in one jump. 3/4 throttle and I cleared the end of the track over the o ring and landed in front of the jump. I can't wait to see the video. it was about 25 feet of air. the old fart's skills haven't totally failed me yet hehe
bad note? my bike took a beating in novice class lol. I think I blew my gyro in the mains. running a 5th scale on a 10th scale track is way too hard. the bikes don't transition fast enough for switchbacks. crowd loved it and cheered the jumps. fun but aggravating

oh ya, I have a couple pipes coming to try. going to be testing both the rear and side pipes out to see how they perform. also an fg side pipe for my on road. I really like Jet Pro stuff. Sending the semi down as soon as my GT5R arrives too for the stacks to be made... then I will have a spare Samba 4 and the GT5R pipes sitting around. Other FG has a VRC. I cut the body to fit it so not much chance of changing it over now.
I also wanted the side pipe because I plan on getting a Horman body from Sickboy as I like that wide look

I can't wait to fire it up and try that Jetpro pipe out.

From my investigations in to pipe options for the BRCA nationals here the rear pipe would not be legal under the sections present rules.
However my investigations have led me to believe that the JetPro pipes are awesome. So I can’t wait to see some photos of there side pipe as this may well be the option for me.
If any one has any photos they could post up that would be great??

That looks awesome any idea when they will become available to the public?
Also will there be a silenced version of the pipe?
The buggy body and side protectors look great how much are they and are they all carbon or lexan?
I bet your itching to hit the local track with the buggy be nice to see a video.

Nutech already know about the shell and They may well have a wider shell available soon, that a side pipe may fit under.

The 23cc engine in the FTX is this powerful enough on both bottom end and top end, or would you think a 26 or 29cc would be better??

The midrange is where problems come about with a 23cc. When the Baja first came out it had killer bottom end, midrange was so bad preparing for jumps on the track was difficult. I could see a 26cc being the key for this buggy.

Any more info on when the Jetpro will be for sale in the UK?
Pipeous
02-04-2010, 11:02 PM
you can contact Dino direct and he'll ship to the UK np. Pipes are ready for sale, or go to innovative or?
and you'd have to contact sickboy about the body price. they are fibreglass and the sides look like carbon. I have one of his vw bodies and I love it.

We need to wait for more cars to be on the market.
Right now we are working on 2 items and have the rubber sealed bearings already available.

It needs a redesigned steering set up that uses 4mm screws in the anchorman plate and upgraded front turnbuckles with inner 4mm screws too.

Put some flanged bearings in it too Clayton and put me down for one ;)
How about a screw kit too? go nice with the bearing kit.
The add on silencer I just looked and it bolts to the roll cage. nicely done Dino. I will try with and without the silencer. Only the rear pipe showed this time around. Dino is going to send the other. they wouldn't fit in the box... and UPS raped me yet again. It's worth paying for expensive shipping because it's cheaper in the end. they charged me $78 brokerage fee on top of taxing me on the declared value (almost $1100 declared ouch) lol.
Just trying to figure out a battery setup. ripped apart a 4600 stick pack and looking for a bad cel right now. I can't fit any of my lipos in the tray and I just picked up another castle bec. I might just mount the lipo externally.

We don't do screw kits. There are companies like Fullforce that would be better at that kind of item.
You should be getting your UPS packages sent to the letter carrier in Point Roberts.
This way you just pay tax or get it shipped USPS Global priority.
I will look at items for the FTX and Nutech next week seeing as how they are gaining popularity quick

It really drives me nuts. $25 fine haunts me for life. Yet in Canada my security clearances allow to to go anywhere really. I've done security for political mp's, escort service for call center staff for battered women and such, pi crap on and on... been in bank vaults, diamond vaults, worked the movie industry....
