I am curious on how many of us here actually have a nutech 5th scale and how many are still waiting for one?
I send a deposit to Scott for an MT RTR.
What do you have or what are you waiting for?

tb2 will be here tomorrow and my GT5R is in the shipping container with the rest. I can see me getting some of the smaller electrics too for this year, the new x5 and maybe an 8th scale when they release one (you know it's coming at the rate these guys pump stuff out)

I have shown the buggy now to 2 people as I have been tinkering and they were both more than impressed. The machining and bling from stock is so nice. so beefy. gears look amazing. Those shocks I can't get over man... they are about the nicest set I have owned for 5th scale and my vw has some nice aftermarket shocks. by far the thickest shafts I have ever seen. Even the gas cap and threads is beef. Anyone that has ever worked with a firehammer tank and cap will know exactly what I mean. It is like the fg cap with thick threads. I worry about over tightening the firehammer tank. If I had to complain, I would say the body is not super tough. I see splitting at the front shock tower on mine from a little pressure. that is so minor though. and my radio wheel feels sticky for centering... that said after a few twists it has loosened considerably so not a big deal... I'll try the buggy out with stock radio until I get a kill switch. those servos are also both 1/4 scale and have heatsinks. seem to be pretty decent but I have yet to add power... I was going to try and get it out for a burn but it didn't arrive until late afternoon... too much prep to get out there... I have to work tomorrow so it'll be sunday before I can get it running. I just have to get it ready tonight... I might be mounting a lipo on the chassis somewhere
Now I need to get a kill switch ordered, air filter, outerwears and I'll do the mesh mod after I pull it apart.
question..., why are the outdrives springy? they seem to push out of the case and apply pressure to the bones. Is there something inside the dif case pushing out? and does this cause any leakage? my difs feel really loose. I'll fill them up after break in and tuning. my vw is going for overhaul first after the muddy bmx day...

The outdrives are springy on the front and rear diffs to apply pressure to the driveshafts at all times. There is a spring inside of the drive cup. It pushes against the pin that holds it in.

The diff's are packed with grease. It has to be removed and cleaned out. I installed 20k front 10k rear and 120k centre. Seens like it works good.

I have had mine a couple of weeks now and well its having a full strip down and some modifications and upgrades so not ran it at all yet.
I hope to be getting to the track with the Punisher this next week before the nationals start to do some testing to better understand the buggy. I will post my findings as soon as I can I will be looking at diff oils and shocks as well as general car set up and handling.
I will be looking for a base set up for the buggy, so will post this in the set up section of the forum also.
