Year I just found out, the UK doesn't have a dealer for Nutech so CML import under FTX and renamed the Thunderbolt II.

Why they used a 23cc in strange though?

Actually the TB2 is std with 23cc CY But like most distributors I opted for 26cc for my market as std fitment.

CML is the reason the Nutech name isn't used. They wanted their own car for the market and picked a great name, it should do them well.
Everyone opted for the 26cc because it was just a few dollars more (an insignificant amount of money) and has better midrange.
Pipeous, when I was first discussing the cars with Nutech I wanted the 26cc.. Couldn't see putting a 23 into it. Chris then decided to offer the engine to everyone. I don't know about the racing scene, is there an engine size limit within the rules?
29cc was even looked into but the price was too high to put in a RTR Car.

Euro off road rule is 26cc limit and onroad is 23cc so don't know why they'd opt for a 23cc in the buggy.

23cc is for on road cars :p
These servos sure draw a lot of juice I must say. About to rip my VW apart and try that Castle BEC. The used one I got for the TB2 might be pooched. if it doesn't work with the other then it's my servos. The started to melt a 2 amp bec (save that for my motorcycle project now)

I am sure the UK/Euro race rules are upto 26cc for 2wd and upto 30cc for 4wd cars!

all these santioniing bodies need to form a 4wd outlaw class where any size engine can be used , ported, reed etc and piped how you want...at least then those who wany big cc can still race

the thing is there has to be enough people. we have the same arguments in electric racing. problem in creating too many classes is it thins out the competition. there's always motor limits in racing. it levels out the field and makes it not turn into a money game where the person that can put all the money in wins.

when large scale catches up... on the other hand, when it's brand new to an area, until the numbers get increased, it's usually run what you brung until enough racers are competing to put rules in place. up here we have a while before we have to worry about restrictions in large scale.
