I got pics of it too, thing is it's still no basher, MCD have failed to improve the diffs..i asked and was told that the LSD upgrade is good...oh so for $500 extra I can have diffs that don't explode, oops forgot to mention that evo4 has a spool so if i want a centre diff add another $240...ouchy $750 for 3 diffs that'll not detonate just by looking at them so I can actually drive it. also have to say the new plastic for the a arms felt like bacolite...very hard but no flex so i'd imagine they'll snap like the V1 rampage arms...was told that they're plastic composite...i asked if that was plastic with added fibre and was told yep..another oh dearie me...fibre compo in plastic has no give whatsoever...bad stuff for a arms.
i've always wanted an MCD since the evo1 but have always shirked away due to durability issues and cost, costs have come down since FS cloned them but durability is still a big problem for bashers..I guess if I got an evo 1,2 or 3 and shoved FS diffs in it it'd get me by...and that has to be embarrasing when a cloner makes tougher parts than the OEM and for half the price

Probaly lots to the MCD owners. I bought a few in the short time I had my MCD's. Plannetary gears in a diff! Not a good idea. They are difinetly not a basher, and probaly never will be. IMO a good basher will make a good racer. If you can't break it bashing you will never break it racing.
I used to dred a roll over with my MCD, somthing I don't think about with my HPI's, Nutech, or FG.

evo 4 didn't look much different, new plastic compound, new radio tray...though everything has been slightly changed it's a bit bigger all round so very few parts are interchangable so you can't make the evo3 into a 4...you have to buy the whole caboodle.
It's also pretty heavy.

MCD RR V4 has 50 new parts against te "OLD" EVO3.
You are right - you can't make the evo3 into a V4.

i had an mcd and sold it cause i needed the money. bashing wise the only limitations for me were the tires (size and tread), the width of the car and the suspension travel ( evo2).
IMHO it is the top of the range car and reliability was not exactly an issue. price was (spares and upgrades). the car is so much detailed compared to everything else in the market. it is more sensitive than some other options but most of them are 2wd.
driving a 4wd with locked center diff is not the same as an open one. the rest about arms and joints are things that i ve seen happening to many other cars and if i am not mistaken nutech released some really good and affordable metal joints (i guess there was a need for them). i find that the nutech car is a very good option for a 4wd and probably the only option at that price point.
not everybody uses their cars the same and that should be always kept in mind. i ve seen a tb2 in here that has so many mods that i cannot count. i would not say that this represents the tb2 though.
if i can afford it i will buy an MCD v4 (i tried buying clubins car but freight killed the deal) from what i can see they improved a very good platform. to me it is like tb2 and tb1 many will say that it is the same but from what i read it is not. many parts are interchangeable but not the same.
plastic is a very interesting material so many baja clones out there but all of them use hpi parts as everybody i know says that they are not the same ( 100% cloned design wise). hpi are stronger. i would not be surprised if the changes on v4 ( wider arms, different geometry, different hubs etc) make a huge difference in combination with a different material.
i am not trying to upset anyone here i just expressed what i believe.
