I have not yet received my first MT...and I have not seen one in person....but it seems like they used small nuts to hold the wheels on...is that true or just they way it looks in the pictures? Are the dog bone/ends easy to break?
Thanks

My only other experience with 1/5th scale is HPI 5B and that one uses some big nut!! ordering some spare parts and just want to know if I should have dog/axles on hand...thats all..

I am an fg guy and never had problems. just grab some extras and change them once in a while after removing a few times as the nyloc wears out. Scott at Vancouver Hobbies I know has them in bulk and I just buy a bag now and then.
being the same as fg gives a lot of tire and wheel options too

Yep the nutech/FG method was around long before HPI was even thought of.

I always add a dab of blue loctie to be safe...the elcon flanged nuts work real well too, had those on my FG and they never came loose

Really for me it comes down to a question of axle size and are these axles big enough for the size of the truck...I would like to think yes since in all that i have read no one has posted other wise..

the real question should be why do hpi have big nuts ??? they still round there hex's as well

Agreeed...but the root of the question remains the same, im not asking about the hex but the diameter of the axles....keeping in mind I have never seen this MT in person and axles may be bigger then they appear....

axles are much the same size since they have adapters to fit the axles and rims from either brnd gets used back and forth. the hpi just has a different hub on the end that uses a larger nut outside the rim...
if the nyloc wears a bad of shoe goo on threads helps a lot too... is there anything that can't be fixed with shoe goo?

I haven't broken any in my TBII yet but they have less wheel mass than the MT's but haven't heard of anyone that has a MT breaking any wheel axles yet.

I wished they had of gone 12mm axles with 24mm hex as well but since the majority of the product will be sold in Europe I think they stayed with what is the norm over there.
