any time man but wouldnt want you getting lost in my dust ;) LOL
From the looks of that video I don't think so. :boxing:
When are you gonna line that Beetle up next to something so we can see what it really does? :punk:

well i think all b.s aside its downright MENTAL fast this beetle and i am used to fast as i run onroads a lot,the weight of this thing it breaks my arms to lift it......complete elcon alloy is heavy.
i know what it is and what its not and i am well happy with it.
show us your faster video then?

how much exactly does your fg weigh now? I want to see how much it weighs compared to my rampig
dc2 man

i must go and weigh it somewhere,i honestly must weigh the bloody thing as it was bought to my attention a lot,i keep forgeting
what the easiest way to get it weighed?
Pipeous

to weigh mine I just step on the house scale with and without the rc in my hands and do the math

pipeous good idea.......
i will weigh it today.

yeah lol that claim is a little ludicrist, although it sounds awesome.
i dont believe everything i read at all.
i believe the cad figures though as i done a lot of research before i got it.
TMR
with all due respect but arnt you shooting yourself in the foot a little here by saying "dont believe" all hp figures.
so if you sell a tuned engine with 5hp we can say AHHH CMON thats just 3.5
see,we take figures and engine specs at face value,we read about the work done,if the amount of work is enough to convinse then so be it.
i wouldnt go around doubting every tuners engine either.
just my 2cents.
i know what you mean,i wouldnt believe everything i read, but i also wouldnt doubt some.
im sure your engine figures would be very real as you stand out and speak your mind.

I think that all hp figures with these motors should be taken with a grain of salt, not necessarily discounted unless the motor was tested on a dyno that is proven to give consitent and accurate results. If a tuner was to send off their motor to Lunatic and he had it make 7hp on his dyno, then I would certainly believe it. And I do believe TMR is getting his own dyno, so he can post up numbers of what his motors also make. Ohh and one other thing about the dyno, if it is a "happy dyno" then thats fine, just test say a stock 23cc CY on it and it makes 3hp, then you know where to base future tests of modified motors off of.
Just my .02,
Bill

dc2, im not doubting all builders, just the ones with outrageous false claims. even with a dyno sheet to back them up you cant always believe it. the reason i saw this is since i got my dyno i have realized that unfortunately you can change parameters and manipulate the dyno #"s to make something look really good or really bad! if the parameters are correct you will get accurate results, whether or not its water brake, brake, or inertia dyno, they all should be within points of a hp of each other. one thing with certain builders is that they are not in the US and their standard and way of dyno testing is much different. a dyno result is only as accurate and honest as the person running it! on the issue of "shooting myself in the foot" , i dont feel its hurting me one bit posting this info, i believe the forum community deserves truth dont you? well thats the one thing im trying to bring to this thread.
WILD BILL you are 100% correct on testing a stock engine before anything else for a baseline... i have 5 pulls of a 5hp BRIGGS AND STRATTON engine on my dyno and it ran the hp it should have it also printed its back to back runs within the same #'s ........
i will be testing a stock engine before each heavy hitter hits the dyno, and if the dyno proves to be spot on everytime i will only test the stocker around once a week.

^Merlin, that sucks, to hear, I thought he was good, mind sending me a PM with the details? Just curious.
Thanks,
Bill
^Right TMR, also I like seeing dyno sheets because you can see the torque curve and max RPM, not it should rev X high...

im trying to not argue with you here, how many times on this thread have i bought it to your attention about CAD and the work thats done,ok so this guy may be competition for you but dont critisise something or insult somebody unless you got proof!
this engine was a 30th gift for me from my girlfriend,so please research CAD /XANDI MODELBEAU
or ask hobbythek about these engines, these guys in germany are renowned for NON B.S to there customers.they will tell you about CAD engines.
the engine is proper blueprinted stuff, its not an everyday engine.
im just asking you do YOUR research before you CUT something down.
this engine is rated @ 7.5hp with pipe and carb,so thats that.
the oddified engine with ecu redtop is 6.5,i was told well before i got this one that it is above those figures.
check out

man the torque this thing supplies is MAD check out the vids,i never saw anything to whellie uncontrolably @ 30-40mph.....

i dont need to research the "cad" engine, and what does getting it for a 30th gift have to do with doing research? or hp #'s?? if that engine was that powerful how come hobbytek stopped dealing with them????
if that company made such good power lets be honest, everyone would be all over them and would be running nothing else! if you want to see an uncontrollable wheelie at 45-50 i can link you to an fg drag car wheeling after shifting to second running the 330!! a wheeling fg at any speed doesnt tell anything about power.....get an hpi 5B to do that and ill believe the hp claim.. i have nothing against you personally so dont take this in that manner, however i am not buying into all the hype..
dc2 man
03-20-2010, 12:15 PM
hey tmr, yeah obviously we wont take it personally....
but i guess after herself spending 800euros on it it can get a little lol
reason hobbythek stopped stocking it was cause he was too expensive, marcus fieldman is now in stock with a price tag for 500euros as opposed to 800euros.
differnce is the work done and blueprinting.
just my 2cents.
the hype is the fg championships at the tracks cause cad was involved in all major championships against the worlds best tuners

Hey dc2 nobody is saying that your MB is slow but my MB looks just as insane because of its short wheelbase it stays on the wheelie bar.
But claiming 7.5 hp without proof will raise some eyebrows, I'm currently awaiting a engine from CC Racing for my Baja 5T but I will not make any HP claims but if I make a video there will be another 5T as a reference.
I've seen a lot of people with big HP engines spinning doughnuts and flying around the backyard yelling yeeehaa! only to get spanked by a stock 26 with a pipe when they finally lined up with another truck.

I'll testify to that...gas jockey did it to me...he was running a stock 26 and pipe against my 27.2 obr full mod and vrc and it was neck and neck in drag races as i can't get the power down and use the extra that i have, and when running with a carb that was only opening 3/4 it was still neck and neck so about 20% of my available power is gaining me nothing at the moment...about 70% of the torque is lost when the front tires boil up..they grow to the size of a dinner plate and just keep spinning..i'm hoping 500K in the centre and harder rears springs will help get more torque to the rear but then it'll be harder to keep in a straight line...so i agree too much power is sometimes just that

I live by the too much power theory. In racing, I've seen so many decent drivers look bad when they go too much power. Like my little brushless ofna. I actually am faster on 2s than 3s even if the speed overall is faster with 3s. on 3s I end upside down coming off jumps and have to correct in the air and stuff like that.

im afraid i think i disagree with you TOO MUCH power isnt enough lol
i changed from 16tooth to 18tooth on the clutch pinion lastnight and man it still throws the front end in the sky except with lots more oomph......
i must say it DOES spin out a lot and is actually hard to control,i agree that it can be hard to lay down the power at times.
i love this engine anyway and am well happy with it.
so all good in camp dc LOL
