been busy over the last few days building Scott a 4130 cage, best and strongest one i've done so far...included a raised rear mount plate for his beetle body.
Braced this more than mine after mine bent after falling roof down with velocity from altitude:no: and knowing how he drives i thought it'd better be super rigid:beat dead horse:
net weight gain over stock is 750gr or 1lb 15oz

Looks good Julian! I guess this means I'll have to install a slightly bigger and better engine to push the extra weight :good idea::boxing:

Well done Julian. Maybe you should talk to Chris and see if he wants to buy the rites to the ChromeMoly cage? lol Or you might just have to go into mass production.

Nice one Moo, I love to see the crash that could bend that one.:) Each cage you make looks better than the last one, great job.

after making a steel rear bumper and adding some more bracing to mine it's now heavier than yours:surprise: maybe it'll help me get some traction now:excited:

oh and i filled all the tubes on yours up with lead last nightLOL

looking sweet moo, how much weight has Scott's beast gained then.

750grammes is total gain .. sounds a lot but now a 27lb MT weighs just shy of 29lb and is as stiff as Ron Jeremy at work:punk:...mine now weighs in at 1.075kg extra with the bumper so total increase is 850gr

Lovely work.

As for the weight gain, it's not a lot and in my opinion Monster Trucks should be built/developed for abuse rather than handling (that's what buggys are for)

Well here's Moo's cage all mounted up on my MT as well as Jetpro's rear TB2 pipe, have to admit it sure stiffens the chassis up nicely :)
Thanks Moo!
Now just have to wait till the rain stops :( only been raining for uhhmm....5 months! LOL!

you lazy bugger you didn't paint it :surprise:

looks good...looks like my guesstimate for your rear body mount was a bit off:damn: does the wing mount/rear cage bolt up ok?

looks good with the pipe...i'll have to make you up a rear bumper that hoops around the pipe :)

What'dya think Chris...factory option??:good idea:

Yah Yah....I didn't paint the cage and yes it's a tupperware container and it works perfectly thank you :punk: I could care less what it looks like under the body shell.....rusty, dirty, bodged this haywire that as long as it works is good enough for me :excited: and it works well I might add.....that's why there's a number one on the roof eh Moo:yahoo:

we'll see this weekend:rifle:..and you still need to paint that 1 on the bottom too seeing as that's the side that's mostly facing up LOL

nah just the words please flip over... I painted on my rc8 brushless conversion.. on the chassis... electric flip over, it's not stalled... because so many corner marshalls would take my car off the track when they thought my motor had died... I used to blip the throttle and laugh as they freaked realizing it was still operational
