I chose both. I usually bash, but would love to race more. All we need around here is some more tracks. :punk:

bash for me...would love to race but not a single race track here on the whole island...tried asking owners of every bash spot and suitable land I can find..liability seems to be an major issue with people here:mad:
fortunately i have finally got an acre to build my own track... my brother in law said i can clear a spot at his place:yahoo: a private track but at least me and all of us i know here with 5ths can gather whenever we want and have some fun and a few races...

I've put both as there's nowhere on the my Island to race (Yet!) and the cost of travelling to the mainland makes it too expensive (for now)
However racing is my preference, I raced at Sweetnap a few years back, (indeed I helped put down their Astroturf)
In one of my early races I won a meeting with a FG Monster Beetle, then went down the Lauterbacher/Hormann route, decided I wanted to go 4wd and tried out a MCD RR (original) and knew 4wd LSOR was for me. (MCD wasn't)
Winning that meeting felt SO good, I want it again.
I'm hoping to do Sweetnaps National/s

Moo, I can get a cheap lap counting setup if you guys are interested. It's not an amb system but it is made locally and works well (I have raced with their system many times).
we just bash too. having a track is really an issue. I have to renew my business liability insurance just so we can play on the one empty parking lot we run at... only thing we could hit there is a building, fence or light post
I race but not 5th scales yet. I am trying to revive 5th scale racing. it's taken me a few years to get people into these things.

Racing is the only thing for me. I tried bashing and got sick of it with in the first 10mins!

Racing is the only thing for me. Ditto. There is something about getting around a corner, squirting the throttle, lining up the jump while you have to battle with a bunch of other drivers.

I agree with that. I raced 1/8 scale nitro. it is a lot of fun to hang out with people with common interests. Maybe once my house is built I'll have time to build my kick A$$ track and have some races.

I also have to agree, after running the first time last yearat gas jockey's track with a few guys going out by myself for a bash is very lonely and somewhat boring, with the good weather coming and 2 tracks planned it should be a good rc year out this way...
One thing i do enjoy whether by myself or with somebody is hill climbing, especially when the hill has yet to be conquered

I don't run alone anymore. take the bike outside my house ya but that's it. I still need mock racing at least. I will somehow secure a permanent on road location this year. once that's figured I will buy a lap system. (he also makes sweet drag systems light trees and all. even wireless sensors along track staging and stuff).
