Has anyone tried or does anyone know if an FG diff e.g from a leopard race will fit in the Tb2?

The reason behind the thought was, so there would be the possibility to use the cvd's rather than the dog bones and as you know, if you're stuck for an output cup there is a 99% chance that someone will have one.

You can use the FG ball drives in Nutech diffs, but you will have to fit all FG internal gears and drive cups. I am not sure on length of FG CVD's for front of Baja if they are same as Nutech TB2.

tb2 cvd's are a lot longer than the fg stuff. you could use the fg ball drives on the gt5r though. I am going to put a nutech dif case in my race truck with the fg internals and ball drives. I can get a pic side by side if you need or even just lay a tb2 cvd on my fg rear arm to compare (haven't installed my stuff in the tb2 yet)

The shafts from the HARM FG Contrast and Hoerrman ball drives are all the same fitting just different lengths so it'll be trial and error to see what fits.

i've fg internals sitting here i=on the bench, was going to put them in because of the bomb proof splines but haven't had to...the nutech diff set up is extremely tough, the inner gears are helical cut whereas the fg ones aren't and the nutech cups are spring loaded so slide in and out as the dog bone moves thru the suspension arc negating the use for cone springs.
i'm not a fan of the fg ball drives for off road use...i got thru several sets of cups, outdrives, balls and shafts in my fgbaja including elcon ones...they don't have enough movement for larger amounts of suspension travel and i found the ball slots burred up and got pretty notchy in operation and the shafts were extremely difficult to get out..actually got had 2 that i could not get out of the cups
I'm using the titan uni's which are the same as the tb2 only longer and they are super smooth and allow full lock on steering...nutech are also working on cvds which use the same set up as LST/MIP nitro ones with rebuildable ends....for onroad ball drives are sweet...this is what they were originally designed for, but off road i'll personally never use them again

I can see the ball drives not working for off road unless you limit the travel. I like the universals. my xray buggy came with universals instead of cvd's because their reasoning was it was one less setscrew to worry about falling out during a race and allows you to finish. xray is like the caddy of rc stuff. when I saw universals and for the price of the Nutech's, I jumped on a set.

FG diffs should work in the Nutechs. I have FG diffs in my Smartech Titan. The only thing you may need are the outer diff gears from a Titan.
