Well I have had this MMT for a couple months now. and between the motor going out the servos going out and other issues...I have managed to get almost a full tank on it.....

having been able to run it yesterday the gears bind...the ring and pinion ones not the outter gears but the ones that sit under the carb.....is this a common problem or just another one that is unique to me????

If this were my first gas 5th scale we could chalk it up to a guy that just doesnt know what he is doing but in my case with the amount of experience I have this is just madness!!!

should be free spinning....check the play on the front centre bone..I put too many of the orings in the cups thinking to get it real snug and it pushed the diff backward and the gears got too tight..just wants one in each cup, another thing to check is the 4 bolts that hold the ring gear are not backing out

I have had nothing but good experiences so far. The stock servos are garbage.
I replaced with my a 5755 and 5745.
I had trouble with my engine after 5 tanks but that was an electrical issue that took some time to resolve because I kept overlooking it.
I did get the a-arms that make the steering knuckles buckle up but I'll contact Scott from ZG soon about that.
I have had my dog bones pop out like crazy but hey better that than a broken joint/a-arm.
So far I am very pleased.
You had motor troubles?

I to am having the same issue, I've spent several hours swapping things over to see whats causing the binding, I have swapped out everything in the center differential with new parts and still getting the binding. I will continue on this afternoon until I can figure out whats causing it, I am going to try putting a new plastic center differential case back in it along with the plastic engine mounts :going insane: I know its in the center differential because I removed the front and rear drive shafts and the f/r differentials are just fine its like the center differential is cocked a touch 1 way for some reason I even took all the o-rings out of the cups to see if the drive shafts were causing it to cock over.

Hi honestly i have no problems with mine as of yet but i noticed when you take the second gear wheel off the and try to spin the gears the ones you are talking about under the carb (ring & pinion) they will bind .
so on my further inspection i pulled on the lay shaft (pulling it out to the side of the chassis ) and the binding was gone,
so to solve that little upset, I shimmed up the second gear wheel on the outer side of the engine mount so it was a snug fit against the bearing in the engine mount replaced the c clip on the lay shaft.
try that

The screws that hold the ring gear to the center diff were stripped (as most of the screws on this build seem to be) and replacing them solved the issue....I used a larger more corse screw as the fix

I haven't even pulled my difs in the TB2 yet. I have a pre production si just ordered aluminum dif cases right away... stripping mine today

I pulled mine all back apart again and noticed the alloy differential case is 1mm longer then the stock plastic case so I am waiting to see what the actual measurement is, probably going to be taking 1mm off the alloy case and put it back together so the ring gear isn't pressed into the gear it meshes with so hard it causes it to bind.

Thank You,

hmmm that doesn't bode well. are all the alloy dif cases 1mm longer? I got called in to work tonight, traded my sat shift so all good so I can play sunday, so it will be a slow process over the next 3 days doing one section at a time

Yikes, thats krappy. I didn't order alloy cases yet, I am going to have to. We'll see what the issue is. Maybe a machining error?

where is the testers section?

the tester section is for guys that test the prototype stuff and report their findings to the mfg in a private location so they can fix the stuff before it's released to the public. sort of the guinnae pig section to test stuff out...

jay these issues are gone i hope?i know you said you fixed all the problems, was this one of them?

this issue was solved as well....screws that held the ring gear together were crap i replaced them with a stronger and slightly long screw....and centered the ring better as well
