View Full Version : 3rd Channel Cutoff switch - How?
I'd like to know how you wire up a remote cutoff switch?
What parts are required and how to wire it up?
I'd be very grateful for your help
Thanks

Hey buddy,
I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, but the Killer Bee 3rd channel killswitch has been recommended by others. I've gone with them as they have a model dedicated to work with Spektrum radio.
Here's a chart for which type of Killer Bee switch to go for:

Here's a description for each version (v1, v2, v2s):

And some videos about their products:

Hope this helps..can't wait to get my installed.

follow the killer instructions, he also has videos. depends what radio. the 2ch version works fine with the nutech 2.4 and I have it plugged into ch 3 instead of a Y cable... it can only be turned off shutting the radio off but works awesome.
Cheers guys!
I'll be wanting one of those.

Andi piece of cake to do, but in my opinion essential.
The kiil switch is available with or without a wiring haness and stop button. If you can solder then get the one without (saves you money). All you do is remove the fan shroud complete with the pull start, this gives you access to the wires on the stop switch. Get yourself a bit of twin core cable and solder to the existing wires on the switch, the other will be connected to your kill switch. Find a convenient exit for the wire and replace fan shroud. Connect kill switch to channel 3 (or a y connector if 2 ch radio is used) and the 2 core cable to the kill switch. Tidy up the cables jobs a good un :punk:
The yellow cable in the pic is my kill switch wiring from the engine to the radio box :kewl pics:

I agree, I always buy the non wired ones... basic speaker wire works fine... it just closes/opens the switch... I usually remove the manual kill switch same time as those things tend to get stuck closed and cause grief, though the nutech is at least hidden somewhat unlike hpi and fg
the extra led is a nice option too... you can mount it somewhere it can be seen. I mounted my led in the plastic part of the motor case on the tb2 so can see through the window

I have the led in my baja, and I have the little speaker in my punisher.
Both are really usefull and stop you leaving the car turned on by mistake.
