Hey guys, I know everything you had made to date is RTR or a roller, but I was wondering if you ever plan on making/producing a kit. I know in a way it's more work because you have to bag the parts and make a manual, but I also know that some 1/5 scale guys love kits and would rather put it together themselves. If you read other forums, you will see many bought the 5B SS just to be able to put it together. So, I was just curious if there is any thought about a kit in the future. Especially since I just found out my gf is going to grad school 8 hours away = lots of free time!

Thanks,
Bill

kits rule in my book, every rc i've owned since day one has been stripped down to kit form and rebuilt anyways so would save me half the labour :) my first rc many moons ago (1981-2) was a tamiya monster beetle that came as a kit...before that i built break off the tabs and glue cars, planes , boats, bikes etc from revell and the likes... I'd really like to see nutechs in optional kit form too...like FG nutech offer all the parts in bags already so a kit wouldn't be too offer as a package i reckon.
Xt5 as far as I know will be offered as a roller not a kit:(

Yeah, I realized it too late yesterday, I should have put up a poll option so we could see what other people like Moo think. I personally have never done a full kit for an RC car, but I have done models, and the like. Although this nitro I just bought came in many parts lol.

So, for fun, lets hear it, whether you want a kit or not and why. It will be interesting to see what you guys want.

I added a poll for you. Let me know if you need it changed.

Hey Chris, I don't think it's "top secret" where you voted when everyone that's voted has gone for a kit! Haha

All us 'die hard' forum guys would love a kit but I think rtr's sell so much better for whatever reason.

PS - Add my vote to 'kit' version preferred.

The evil traxxas changed things with the tmaxx. it brought many more people into the hobby at the expense of losing the experience building a kit gives the hobbyists... which made hobby shops have to hire extra guys to fix these rc's for their customers

Roccos I certainly agree with you and that is why I was thinking Nutech could/should produce a kit for a car they already make, such as the MT or Thunderbolt, just like HPI has the SS. Also, the MT and Thunderbolt are essentially the same car, just different rims, tires, body and a-arms. So the instructions would be the exact same and they could "kill two birds with one stone". Now how much time/money it would take to develop the instructions and bags I don't know, so it may not be worth their time.

I always strip and rebuild any RTR car.

But a kit would be better, and one where you can decide upgrades would be even better.

For me it would be a mostly plastic car with alloy engine and clutch mounts

20-1 in the poll suggests it could be a viable option.
