Pipes arrived today :yahoo: thanks Willy !!!!
I have a few GT5R pipes and a TB II pipe along with the Mega pipe to test from Jetpro !!!!

Here is my Mega Monster with the Jetpro Pipe, I must say it went on relatively easy for a aftermarket pipe just had to hog out the hole for where it mounts to the clutch carrier as it didn't line up quite right but other then that it looks and fits great + it doubles as a grab handle haha !!

That's really nice finish on that pipe. Niiiice:dance:

Say between your clutch bell mount and clutch bell, is there a shim/washer of any kind?

On mine, there's about 3 or 4mm play in the clutch bell..and the gears don't mesh up squarely as a result..

Thanks mud :-) I wiped it down with WD40 so it should turn nice and blue/purple when it gets hot!!

As for the gear that goes on the clutch bell yes there is 1 shim behind the gear and a steel space about 2mm wide that goes on the outside of that gear before you put the snap ring on which eliminates most all the play.

Thanks for that info.

Mine didn't have a shim, it does have the 2mm thick piece. As a result the plastic clutch bell mount melted a little. =(

Let's see a vid of that pipe!! :punk:

I use my gt5r pipe as a carry handle too lol. even running the size of the pipe keeps things cool. I carried it while it was running and not hot...

can't wait to see the mt running with it

Scott, can you give some measure for this:

Just looking how long reed/carb/filter i can mount between engine block and pipe...

How the hell do you tighten the screw on the right side of the motor....looks like a tight fit...is it a 1 or 2 piece pipe?

Hi Jesi
Its 4 3/4" from the intake manifold to the pipe if you need any other measurements just let me know :-)!!!!

Its a 1 piece pipe, its actually very easy to install, the hardest part is getting the pipe side exhaust bolt in as its on the inside of the sharp bend coming off the exhaust port, other than that it all fit super easy the hole in the mount on the right side of the engine needed to be hogged out a bit to line up correctly without putting pressure on the exhaust bolts but you just unscrew that bolt from the clutch carrier and reinstall it there aren't any issues getting at it.

Seems Dino needs to fix his jig used when welding the pipes up as all the Jetpro pipes I brought for FG Marder also had to have the gear carrier mount hole filed heaps to fit properly!

I use a long 4mm ball end T-bar for exhausts when you can't get in straight!

mine was the same for my fgbaja, needed to dremel out the hole..but to be fair the ddm dom i had also needed the dremel, however that being said the jetpro MT pipe BCBob threw on his rig bolted up perfect first time with no need for any adjustments, it fit perfect.
Personally, i really wish these guys would do a 2 piece like the VRC pipes, a slip fitting over the maniflod with a silicon collar to seal it up and a spring to keep everything peachy. +1 to dino though for getting onboard and offering up some great performing pipes for the nueys and real quick too:punk:

+1 to the VRC type 2pce pipe Moo! so much :beta: it is really the only way to go! the solid mount pipes are always coming loose at the barrel bolts.

Deffo a big ups for Dino @ Jetpro for getting on board making Nuey pipes so quickly:punk:

The Mega pipe certainly wouldn't fit under a TB II shell but the Jet Prop pipe I have for the TB II is much smaller and would fit under the TB II body I will have some pictures that one as well.

Finally got a little rain so I was able to run my Mega with the new Jetpro pipe :yahoo:!!! first video is warm up and tuning without the body on, took a nice digger right on the top with no body so you can see how good the pipe is mounted :omg: didn't even break off the spark plug woo hoo :punk:!!

Second video is with the body on and carb tuned in for our ever changing Wisconsin weather lol 70 degrees one day and 48 degrees and blustery the next. Did 2 nice front flips in a row haha still havent cracked that beetle body, after I was all done I drove it back into the shop and noticed I picked up a large stick that was wedged in the rear wheel and a arm I thought I had broken a spoke but it was this huge stick clicking every now and then lol.

Pipe is great but I think I am going to tear into the silencer it needs to be louder haha but it makes great power through out the RPM range.

Looks like the pipe is working great for you Scott! How much of a power gain do you trhink you got from it? Also it looks like your RC work area will be a great size when it's all done and set up. :punk:

Hmm.

For me, somehow it seems a bit nose heavy =(

Nose heavy ? there is nothing in the nose lol that's the lightest part of the whole truck, I wouldn't judge front end or rear end heavy off my jumping as I am not a great jumper with these yet but as far as balance goes its seems much better with the pipe but again I am not the best jumper yet as I never really felt confident jumping my FS as I knew I would be in the shop working on it lol :damn:.

Haha yeah that does look cool I was coming in hot and got really close to the warehouse so I locked her up a bit to bleed off some of the speed so I could make the turn had a lot of puddles to aviod haha!!! but it sure beats the dust.

Thanks for the video, nice!

Thanks Chris I had a lot of fun making them :-) :yahoo:

The power gain wasn't night and day but it is certainly a nice improvement over stock, once I remove the baffling in the silencer I think it will be what I was looking for in power and noise lol!!!! loud pipes save lives haha:yahoo: all in all it certainly makes it much more fun to drive and doubles as a grab handle!!!

WOO so just stop my head spinning with all the circles you were making :going insane:LOL ,
Scott that looks and sounds sweet as hell, i see that you are getting better with your jumping,i still haven't had much time to practice myself but you seam to have it under control ,when you time it right and see the mt fly like it dose sweet nice.
Like mooman said if you take that silencer off your ears will bleed.
Personally i like the sound of it as is.
Are you using the stock carb on this?
If so i think it would be nice to give the cy a tuned carb with the 8000rpm clutch spring.
Carb, clutch spring, jetpro pipe that thing wold eat you alive for sure LOL

Haha yeah there was a lot of puddles and mud to dodge along with the usual poles, buildings, trailers, cement wall ect lol knock on wood I haven't hit anything yet so I found a decent clear oval path so I ran it.

Having a decent made jump really helps out to learn the jumping characteristics of these large scale RC, yes it is a sweet thing to see when your RC is flying through the air nice and flat, hit the ground and keep going which is another reason I kept going in circles practice makes perfect LOL!!!!

I hope the pipe does make my ears bleed then I know its making all the power its going to, besides I love the look on my neighbors face when they drive by the shop while I am doing WFO runs across the fields :omg:LOL thats why we are in a business industrial park!!!, if for some reason its unbearable I can always repack the silencer its only 2 rivets.

Stock carb yet I do plan to put a performance 813 on it along with a vstack and choke as I do enjoy the choke it makes it much easier to start, I have been contemplating using the 3 shoe I have here from Nutech or just putting the 8000 clutch spring in with some new pads, than maybe I can leave the packing in the Jetpro we'll see!!!

the MT's fly real well usually level or tail down, you just gotta hit the jump with the throttle pegged then ley off just before you land...i drove mine like my pig at first and ol noseybonk would come down first...as you can see in Vancouver hobbies track vid it flies pretty good now that I got it sort of figured out...just need to stop drinking beer now when we run so i can actually stay on the track:rolleyes:

Just like jumping a motocross bike if its not flat in the air from a proper launch you can blurp the throttle to bring the front end up if its low or if your front end is high you can grab the brakes in the air to bring it back down. I finally setup a decent straight jump for it so I can practice timing and depth perception, once you have a few nice tracks going straight up the jump its easier to keep it lined up but again practice makes perfect it sure looks sweet when they fly straight and true.

P.S a few beers is half the fun lol :yahoo:!!!!!
