i have recently done some f270 testing and so far with the out of box tune, it has made 3.38hp and 1.98 ft lbs of tq! this was on the third pull right out of the box, with stock air filter, can muffler and stock tune! i expect some more gain after the ring fully seats and the engine wears in a bit... updates coming soon!

Holy krap that is awsome. How does it compare to a stock Zenoah 4 bolt 270?

are those values for the zen out of the specs or on the same dyno?

the specs are off ddm's site he mentioned. it would be cool if you had a zenoah to do on your dyno with same setup to get an accurate comparison. still the results posted sound very promising for sure

sweet, I like the way you post the numbers of the results up. showing different runs and stuff. they make sense.
I am thinking about a new 4 bolt modded motor for my GT5R now that I have traction. we'll be talking ;)

another update, i have just measured and fit a zen 4 bolt top end to the cy cases with no problem! the cy cases and cylinder have ever so slightly larger transfers, however the cy and zen 4 bolts ARE compatible!
id also like to mention that the portwork, combustion chamber, and plating look very good!
i will be posting my latest dyno secessions that consist of a stock 270 zen, a stock 290 zen and the cy f270 for an out of box stock comparison...

good to see somebody taking the time to do a real world comparison between cy and zen and now we know that the 2 are compatible for sure.

major update!!!!!
this cy f270 is supposed to be a 35mm bore and 28mm stroke, well after taking this apart to have a look around i have discovered a few things you all should know!
it is not a 26.9 but is a 27.2cc!!! its 34mm bore and 30mm stroke!

Does this mean it will rev higher and still have the torque?

Interesting, you are the first one that has noticed. Wonder if that is a temporaty thing, or if that is the way they are going to be coming. Stuffed crank?

it'll rev a little lower but have more torque, with ceramic mains it'll rev higher...my OBR zen 27.2 full mod absolutely screams...I used to be a 28.5 fan til i got this motor...

LOL, wrong way round. Thought smaller piston means higher revs..LOL

well this is no temporary thing, this is what they wanted it to be, 27.2cc.
compare to the g270, and g290 it dis very well
stock with can fine tuned and broken in
3.6hp 270 zen
3.8hp 270 cy
4.0hp 290 zen
these are averages from pull to pull.
ill post actual tq numbers asap.
the 290 made the best torque as predicted, the f270 was a very close 2nd, then the 270 zen in 3rd
i will say this, the cy f270 is a bit doggy compared to the 270 zen and the 290.
if you remove the can from the cy and add a good tuned pipe it wakes right up!
the transfer port timing is what i believe is causing this engine to be so responsive to a pipe.
although it may seem doggy it does have the torque to pull taller gearing to make up for its lack of zippyness..
more info and video can be found in the other f270 thread..
