Installed the wheel adapters for HPI wheels and put on some new shoes, much better throttle reponse with these smaller lighter wheels ::yahoo: great traction as well and widens the stance about 1/2" all around.

:-) Thanks guys, traction seem great with them I only ran 1/2 tank through so far I am very pleased, the wider stance is very stable and with the smaller diameter wheels it runs out of top end pretty quick which I figured it would but gets out of the like a raped ape I think I might try swapping around the main gears and see what happens, I just wanted another option for wheel/tires now I can go back and forth between them depending on where I will be running it + I will be mounting some paddles on the rear of these wheels that should be fun :-), I will have some video soon!! just have a few things to finish up first hopefully this week I can get some video of it I am waiting for the rest of my parts from Nutech looks like they got stuck in US customs :-(

Thank You,
Scott

speaking of paddles I plan on attacking the unconquered hill here agian, this time with the nutech, as soon as my jeep body is done.. got 4 paddles that need to fling some sand...need to get some plasticine to lock the centre up, 500k was working fine in damp sand but now it's drying out the fronts are busting loose again...so need a solid diff to have any chance of getting over the top :)

my pig almost made it but it's a fat, heavy piggy so struggled at the top...reckon the MMT being faster and lighter should make it

scott try changing your 2 main gears around that should bring your gearing right for those wheels

Nutech Racing U.S.A
05-11-2010, 12:21 AM
Yeah I was going to swap those gears around and see how it is, I don't need a ton of top end but it certainly needs a little more with these smaller wheels :-).

Sounds like fun mooman with the paddles you should make it to the top I have been looking for a nice large sand hill I could use for a hill climb we have a ton of large straight up grass walls but I want sand with paddles or dirt, one of our motocross tracks has hill climb every summer I am going to see if those guys will let me run my RC on it :-)!!!.

For wheels I'd go for these

http://www.silverbackrcproducts.com/online/images/department/wheels1276098747_155.jpg

http://www.silverbackrcproducts.com/online/department/5b_guerrilla_wheels/

Get 2 sets of Baja rears in your choice of colour

Beadlocks

http://www.silverbackrcproducts.com/online/images/department/beadlocks1276098720_365.jpg

http://www.silverbackrcproducts.com/online/department/baja_5b_beadlocks/

Get lipped outers and normal inners

Tyres then depend on where you run, I run Hostile MX all round for serious off roading.

For lighter work I run Baja front rims and ProLine BowTie tyres, they give more of a buggy look.

DDM stock those wheels and beadlocks too if you don't want to order from the UK, but Silverback RC will supply the to the entire world with free shipping ;)

Those are some good looking rims. I use his beadlocks on my Baja's, so if the rims are of the same quality they should be great. :punk:

Well they were at least 12 months late coming to the market, as he wouldn't release them until the were properly ready.

I run his beadlocks on my Baja too.

I would like some tires that are at least as large as the stock ones that come with my MM.

They are proper tuff tires, and great grip.

I run them on the TBII Beetle and they look big on there LOL

Is it clearance, gearing or looks that would be a problem ?

The HPI Baja 5T has taller tires, if that's what you're looking for.

all of the above. I guess if i am going to run it on a track, I could just re-gear it with the smaller wheels.

Ok,
so i ordered a pair of nutech wheels to hold me over till i figure out what else to order. I did also order a set of nutech/hpi wheel adapters. But I am having trouble finding some BIG tires and rims to fit those adapters..
I was considering the MCD mt wheels, but i am not sure if they will fit the hpi wheel adapters.

@ shredder the hpi adapters only work with hpi type wheels. Like the proline wheels, the clone hpi etcmyou do not need adapters for any of the nutech wheels?most of the mcds use the same sqaure drive hex, also the firehammer mt has. Bigger wheels too.those are still avail.

I was considering the MCD mt wheels, but i am not sure if they will fit the hpi wheel adapters.

The MCD wheels have a square hub just like the Nutech, but I can't comment if they would fit the Nutech model because of offsets. I know my MCD Baja 1000 wheels fit the Nutech squares but won't work because of the negative offset, interferes with the steering knuckles etc.

If you want big MT tires that will fit Baja hexes talk to Scott@Zerogravity about the Kalee wheels and tires. They are huge! Heres a pic of them on my old Rampage:

Haha you beat me to it lol, dam those look big even on your Rampage, these are the largest wheels/tires I have found for the HPI hexes :punk:

MCD uses basically the same stock square drives as the Nutech and FG.

Yes the sites combines shipping cost on all multi part orders or vehicle orders :-) lol..

The rim is 3.5" wide without the bead locks, overall diameter is 5.5"
