I got a cnc case coming for the rear, Scott at Van hobbies has a few sets due to arrive any day now.
wondering how that clutch is going to last as does look like much meat on those pads before the alloy lip at each side.
how was the bearing fit in those cases??

Bearing fit into the housing was very nice needed a bit of help :D
At this stage I will only be fitting rear diff as I have never had a problem with the front end.
Yes already reported back to factory about thickness of clutch shoes!

dif cases are nice but I am happy with stock clutches... I watched my bud fight with a lauterbacher 3 shoe to know I don't want one of those anyway lol. he always had piles of clutch material no matter how he set them... went through shoes so fast it was insane
I'd put those cases on for sure.

my laut 4 shoes have hardly worn at all...wouldn't leave home without em...I do like being able to adjust my engage rpm... and even the one in the heavy rampig is still holding up fine...i know the 3 shoe off road ones were garbage...i think catchaser bought one and it wore out in about 2 tanks :omg:
good to hear the bearings are a nice tight fit...do hate loose sloppy holes :D

Fitted my cnc cases today, found one rather insignificant error though, where the rear chassis brace mount attaches to the case, either dremel the case or shorten the screw, pretty easy fix but even easier to do before a guy installs the case to the chassis :damn:LOL

Yes I noticed that when assembling mine so just put a shorter bolt in :D

got my case fitted at the rear today...bearings fit the way they should..nice and tight...pinion had a few teeth rounded off again but luckily the ring gear is ok....apart from rear cvd's, fg diff internals fr and rear, lower spherical front hub bearings (all in the post or on my bench) my MT is complete and should be as mooproof as possible...took a lot less time and effort and money than my rampig to get it sorted the way i like it.

Hold on, FG diff internals fit!!! I never even thought to try!!
Is there any major fettling to be done or do they more or less bob straight in?
Hmmm, Ball Drive might be possible, maybe even convert to a LSD :omg::yahoo:

lsd wont fit but the fg outdrives, spiders and splined diff cups fit but you'll need cvd's in front and rear, the rear looks like it'll need a spacer behind the hub bearing as well...i'll know as soon as the cvd's i ordered for the rear arrive.
smartech splined outdrives and cups also fit and are helicul cut same as the nutech so the spiders are the same...i found a dirt cheap smartech supplier diff cups 10bucks a pair, internal gears 23bucks so for $66 +20 ship...$88 for fr and rear..fg are $200+ship
(smartech and fg splines are slightly different and the gears are straight cut so no parts cross over)
