Hi there,

Yesterday I went to a race track for the first time.
Some guys were interested in the strange 4x4.
Most of them were driving Hörmann and 1 FG.

They told me my car wasn't braking enough by far....
And indeed, watching the other cars, they were braking real hard.
I need lots of meters to go to standstill.

They changed some settings, but they could not make the brakes to lock.
Today I changed my stock servo with a Savox sc-0252 (10.5 kg).

I still don't get my car to brake like it should be.

The throttle movement on the servo is big, the brake movement on the servo is only some milimeters. (when under tension - equal movement when no tension)

Any help welcome

How are the brake pads on your vehicle? Are they worn? Did they get oil or grease on them?

I don't know how to edit my post, can't find an edit button.

But I mean Hörmann cars, ...:beat dead horse:

i moved the brake levers a bit more forward by moving the collet a bit toward the brake, worked for me.

check the travel setting on the radio too.
hope you get it sorted.

I changed the 10 kg Savox by a 20 kg Savox and now it seems to brake real hard (is late so I cannot start it up and run around :damn:)

Hope this solved the problem.

However this digital Servo makes a constant noise. Like it is working all the time.
The out of the box radio an receiver from Nutech can handle these digital servos I suppose, or can t they.

What can i do to let the noise dissappear?

digital servos are noisy it seems because they are always trying to ensure the servo is centered. I wouldn't worry about it. I run 2 digital hitecs on my stock radio setup

Tested it yesterday evening in house with pushing the car and seemed to be braking hard. This was with a 6V battery.

Today I went out for a spin, but my 6V battery doesn't fit the switch. So I attached the 4.8 V batterypack.

This made the car slow down, but it didn't brake hard.

6v will be a necessity it seems.

the brake linkages are a bit fiddley but you can get the brakes to lock with a decent servo...what i really don't like is the fact that you can't adjust the pads in situ...you have to take the bleedin centre diff out for the rears, fronts i can adjust...just...in place.

i got mine set now to lock the rears first so i can slide the arse end in tight corners and get on the throttle way quicker

Same problem here, brakes like a fully laden oil tanker.

Looked at the brake pads today, don't know if you guys have noticed the same, but the wear on both sets of pads are quite uneven.

That is, the pad touching the brake disc (the burr side) has worn a lot more than the other side. Going to reverse the pads when I put it all back and see if it can even out a bit.
